Other conditions/procedures
Biopsies
Needle biopsies are performed for a variety of conditions on an outpatient basis with minimal preparation.
Venous access (port placement)
For patients requiring chemotherapy, long term antibiotic treatment, IV nutrition or multiple blood draws, a chest port providing direct access to the bloodstream may be required.
Dialysis access (fistula) and maintenance
For patients requiring hemodialysis, arteriovenous (AV) fistulas and grafts may be created without surgery, and may be repaired over time if they become clogged or narrowed.
Embolizations for abnormal bleeding
Catheter-directed embolizations are procedures used to prevent blood flow to an area within the body. This is a highly effective and non-surgical way to control or prevent abnormal bleeding.
Nephrostomy, nephrouteral and ureteral stents
To help restore urine flow when obstructed due to conditions such as kidney stones, tumors, infections, or blood clots
